Aung La N Sang (29-13) is one of the most decorated MMA fighters in ONE Championship history, and he’s not done yet.
“The Burmese Python” will look to build upon his already-blossoming legacy on Friday, May 5, when he faces China’s Fan Rong at “ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III” on Prime Video.
N Sang, who is the former multi-time ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world champion, will enter the 1STBANK Center in Colorado hot on the heels of two first-round knockout victories.
He held both titles simultaneously until they were snatched from him by Reinier de Ridder in consecutive fights in 2020 and 2021. However, that hasn’t stopped the Kill Cliff FC product from trying to regain his middleweight gold.
Here are three reasons why the 37-year-old still has what it takes to reclaim the ONE middleweight world title.
1. He has the power to knock anybody out
N Sang has 29 career victories with a 93 percent finishing rate, and over half of those wins have come via knockout.
What’s more, nine of those knockouts have come under the ONE banner, making him one of the most prolific KO artists in promotional history.
In his last two appearances, the Kill Cliff FC representative has stopped MMA veterans Yushin Okami and Gilberto Galvao inside one round to remind the world of his ferocious power.
You can never write off a fighter with power, and N Sang has bags of it.
2. He has done this before, you know …

It has been a long and storied career for the former two-division MMA world champion.
Since making his ONE debut way back in 2014, N Sang has made 18 appearances with the promotion. Incredibly, nine of those fights have been world title blockbusters.
With six victories among those world title bouts, it is clear that championship experience is not easy to come by. And once again, N Sang has a big tick in that box.
3. He carries the hopes of a nation on his shoulders
N Sang is a huge superstar in his native Myanmar, with his victories on the global stage capturing the imagination of the Burmese fans.
As Myanmar continues to grapple with civil conflict, the middleweight star is a beacon of hope for his people. And the drive that comes from pride and responsibility cannot be underestimated.
As the pride of a nation, N Sang has a cause as noble as any to fight for. So, don’t expect him to back down when the going gets tough in the ONE circle.
