Chingiz Allazov (59-5) has already toppled some of the biggest names in the striking world, but the ONE featherweight kickboxing world grand prix champion has his toughest assignment ahead of him this Friday.

That evening, the Azerbaijani-Belarusian bruiser will challenge ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn (113-34) for the gold in the main event of ONE Fight Night 6, which fans can watch for free on Prime Video with an Amazon Prime membership.

The bout could be a definitive moment for Allazov given his run in the promotion. With that, let’s look at three keys to victory that “Chinga” could use to dethrone the champion.

1. Keep Superbon on the backfoot

Superbon enjoys controlling the range with jabs and teeps to keep his opposition exactly where he wants them.

This is going to present a unique challenge for the Azerbaijani-Belarusian banger, who is going to have to use his footwork and avoid committing down the center line.

Allazov’s fighting style is packed with pressure, though, as seen against the likes of Samy Sana, Jo Nattawut and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. So, if “Chinga” is given the chance to get on the front foot, Superbon will have a hard time changing the pace of the fight.

2. Choose his shots wisely

If Allazov’s time in ONE Championship has shown us anything, it’s that he packs plenty of power in his striking.

Allazov currently finds himself with a 3-1 slate in the promotion, which includes two knockouts over the aforementioned Nattawut and Sana. He also became the first man to ever stop Sana, doing it in just 39 seconds.

The power is clearly an attribute that “Chinga” possesses, but he cannot allow himself to overcommit and telegraph his strikes. If he does, Superbon will lure him into a false sense of security, just like he did to kickboxing GOAT Giorgio Petrosyan.

3. Avoid dirty boxing from within the clinch

It’s well known how aggressive Allazov can be, but rushing inside Superbon’s pocket can be a risky move.

The defending titleholder’s fight IQ and experience give him the ability to sense an opportunity to turn the tables on his opponents, even at close range.

If Allazov wants to secure the gold, which his aggressive fighting style could predictably do, he would be smart not to rush into Superbon’s range. Attempting to get inside the Thai’s pocket will allow Superbon to catch “Chinga” with one of his underrated punches.

The Azerbaijani-Belarusian challenger will be much better suited to find his range and fire from a comfortable position. After all, if he shows too much respect to the reigning champ, he may find the fight slipping away from him.
