Spike TV’s two-fight preliminary card broadcast of this past weekend’s UFC 106 event drew a 1.0 household rating for 1.3 million viewers. The broadcast was the third pay-per-view teaser to air on Spike TV. The UFC 103 and UFC 104 broadcast specials both earned 1.4 million viewers.

According to Spike TV, the broadcast scored more viewers in the men 18-49 and men 18-34 demos than ESPN’s offering of a Big 12 football game between Kansas State and the University of Nebraska, which determined the Big 12 North conference champions.

Although the ratings have held steady during the three PPV teasers, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) over the weekend that they won’t necessarily become a consistent offering. Instead, he said, UFC and Spike TV officials will decide whether to do the one-hour broadcasts on a case-by-case basis.
