Since the rise of mixed martial arts, the sport has seen the demise of many a great legend.

Fighters like Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes prolonged their already historic careers past their respective expiration dates. Out of their prime and out of competitive relevance, these athletes have blemished the tail end of their careers by extending themselves well past their due dates.

However, there exists several fighters who have gracefully exited the sport, some perhaps too early, but nonetheless in a timely manner that have left many with positive impressions of their careers, rather than blemished “last chance at glory” battles that have hindered their legacies.
