Buakaw Banchamek is a savage, plain and simple.

Fights fans love the Muay Thai legend for a variety of reasons. First of all, he is one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time; his accomplishments in the ring speak for themselves. Moreover, his fights are entertaining and never fail to leave fight fans all around the world on the edge of their seats. But there is another thing that people absolutely love about Buakaw, it is that he is a total beast.

Youtube is flooded (no pun intended) with footage of Buakaw going through insane, rigorous training. The man seems to be able to push his physical limits to surreal levels. As a result, Buakaw is one of the most tenacious fighters in all of combat sports.

Now, we all have our moments of weakness, and excuses are easy to find. Missed your workout? I bet that Netflix marathon was totally worth it. Don’t feel like exercising today? You must have a good reason for that. Think these extra donuts are worth it? Of course they are.

I’m not blaming anyone here since I regularly find myself guilty of making (poor) excuses too. That’s probably why I’m not a legendary Muay Thai fighter, unlike Buakaw, who can be seen in the footage below casually training in his flooded gym:

Floods are pretty common in Thailand. In fact, severe flooding occurred during the 2011 monsoon season all over the country. Buakaw’s Por Pramuk gym found itself submerged in several inches of water.

Now, most fighters would have probably taken a day or two off if their gyms got flooded; that would have been understandable. I mean, some fighters skip training for way less than that! Yet, Buakaw kept training like nothing happened, showcasing once again to the world why he is a straight savage.

I have never seen anyone train under such harsh conditions. Buakaw possesses the kind of will few fighters have had in combat sports history, and that’s why he is already a Muay Thai legend.
