In the movie ‘Skin Trade’, martial arts icon Tony Jaa goes up against a number of action movie stars, including a ‘David Vs Goliath’ battle with Dolph Lundgren.

Hailing from Sweden, the 6ft 5, 250lb Lundgren has been in the movies since the mid-80’s.

His big break in the business came after bodyguarding for, and later dating, singer Grace Jones, which led to him being given a minor role in the James Bond blockbuster, ‘A View To A Kill’.

Later that same year Lundgren became famous around the world playing the role of Russian boxer Ivan Drago opposite Sylvester Stallone in ‘Rocky IV’.

That iconic part would lead to a successful career that continues to this day, with the now 58 year-old recently featuring in a recurring role in ‘The Expendables’ franchise, while later this year he’ll take the lead in a reboot of the 90’s comedy hit, ‘Kindergarten Cop’.

As well as being a star on the big screen, Lundgren is also a life-long martial artist, having begun training Kyokushin Karate from the age of 10, and he’s gone on to achieve a 3rd Dan black belt in the discipline and won the European Championships in both 1980 and 1981.

Despite his most iconic role as Drago in Rocky IV typecasting Lundgren as a man of few words with more brawn than brains, it’s worth noting that in real-life he actually holds a masters degree in Chemical Engineering and speaks seven different languages.

Taking all that into account, the 5ft 6, 134lb Jaa had his work cut out for him in this epic battle.

However, the Muay Thai master, who began training in the discipline at 10 years old and has also studied other disciplines like Taekwondo, Judo and Akido, has more than a few tricks up his sleeve to deal with the bigger man in the hard-hitting showdown that follows between the two.
