In this video coming out of Thailand we get to see Muay Thai showcased against someone who may have underestimated its effectiveness.

It takes him longer to take off his shirt and put on a pair of gloves than the fight itself actually lasts.

After meeting in the center of the ring and touching gloves, the drunk throws the first strike as he attempts a front kick but the Thai fighter simply counters with a punch of his own that leaves the drunk challenger turning to look to those in his corner as he realizes that he had gotten himself into a situation that he wasn’t prepared to handle.

The trained fighter stays locked in his fighting stance, pressuring forward and then unloading a round kick to the body that sends the drunk into a defensive shell. As he silently contemplates his mistake he backs away slowly, staying right in front of the Thai and allowing him to tee off with two leg kicks back to back.

Once the Thai realizes that the tourist has stopped fighting back, he begins a flurry of strikes that literally chases him out of the ring as the crowd that surrounds boos and shames him.

The next time he is on vacation in a foreign country, maybe he should just watch the fights like everyone else instead of challenging one of the local pros to the countries’ violent pastime.
