By far one of the greatest Muay Thai exponents in mixed martial arts history, long time middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva has blitzed countless victims with pinpoint accurate punches, kicks, knees and elbows.

From his memorable upward elbow KO of Tony Fryklund, to his devastating clinch clinics on Rich Franklin and his brutal jumping knee to the chest of Stephan Bonnar, ‘The Spider’ has amassed one of the greatest highlight reels in the history of the sport.

Outside his mixed martial arts career, Anderson Silva also had some Muay Thai bouts though the documentation is scarce at best.

In the following clip around at an unknown event in Brazil, a very young Anderson Silva in traditional Thai shorts finds himself fighting against what looks like an American style Kickboxer under WAKO, complete with the long pants.

After some confusion as to whether the unnamed kickboxer was going to wear shin pads and headgear, the match gets the go ahead to the approval of the crowd as a full contact affair with only gloves as mandatory protection for both fighters.

Predictably from here Anderson Silva styles his way around the ring against the clearly outclassed opponent landing pinpoint punches and kicks until unleashing a turning side kick that ends the contest putting his opponent out of his misery.

Anderson Silva (April 14, 1975) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Middleweight Champion. Silva holds the longest title streak in UFC history, which ended in 2013 after 2,457 days, with 16 consecutive wins and 10 title defences. He has 13 post-fight bonuses; the second most in UFC history. UFC president Dana White and several mixed-martial-arts publications have called Silva among the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
