Speed kills. Speed kills. Speed kills.
That is what Mike Tyson’s former trainer Cus D’Amato used to say, over and over and over. Actually he made it the leitmotiv for Tyson’s training, making sure his protégé never forgets that the most important tool he could develop was speed. I’d say it turned out pretty great for Mike Tyson.

Speed kills. It is a long-time martial arts mantra that has been battle-tested over countless fights.
No matter how big you are, how strong you are, how precise you are, if you cannot hit your opponent before he does you’re in for a rough ride. I mean, this is the very basis of what martial arts are about: Hurt the most while being hurt the least.
It looks like this Muay Thai fighter took this adage to heart.
Now you can find great and fast kickers in Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts. Former UFC Featherweight kingpin José Aldo comes to mind. This former soccer player has developed kicks so devastating that it made some of his foes limp badly even months after the fight. He is a monster kicker. A beast.
What makes his kicks so devastating though? You guessed it. Speed.

Watching José Aldo hit his opponents in the cage with lightning fast kicks is amazing. It is a huge part of his game, and helped him greatly in staying undefeated for 10 years.
This gentleman kicks faster than José Freaking Aldo. Yes, you read that right.
Watch this Muay Thai fighter kicking pads, hitting them with 30 kicks in TWELVE seconds.
Seriously, how is that even possible? Those are the fastest kicks I’ve ever seen, and as great as José Aldo’s kicking technique is, it appears the UFC star has some competition!
