The sport of Mixed Martial Arts has been around a lot longer than most people believe, however; it was introduced to the world on a cold evening in Denver, Colorado on November 12, 1993, and called the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The premise was beautiful in its simplicity: to simply answer the question of which martial art is most effective.

Fast forward over 20 years and we now have a sport that jockeys for top position in popularity in many countries. Although the sport has evolved, the original question that was set out to be answered is still one that intrigues people to this day.

One of the constitutional issues that have arisen with the popularity of mixed martial arts is that it has lost a bit of its original luster as the shock value, if you will, has dissipated and with so many events occurring the mainstream audience has become bored with simple mixed martial arts contests…enter the post-fight celebration.

In an effort to attract the mainstream audience, also known as the casual fan, promoters have made several attempts and efforts to entertain the masses including things such as entertaining, pro-wrestling-esque, entrances, additions to the unified rules to promote action, and encouraging fighters to be entertaining.

The later attempt to keep audiences entertained has prompted fighters to spend copious amounts of time planning out their post-fight celebration. Well, what happens when you spend more time focusing on your victory celebration than on your actual training regimen for the fight? Well, the universe has a particular way of dealing with such a situation and we have named her Karma.

So check out the video below to see what happens when a fighter spends too much time on his post-fight victory celebration and not enough time in the practice room.
