There was recently a Periscope from UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm being interviewed by Larry King. In it Holm addressed what she told Ronda Rousey in the Octagon after the win, her controversial sponsor Inter Pharma, former WWE pro wrestler Taz saying the fight was fixed, and Jon Jones calling her the G.O.A.T. of female combat sports.

“Right immediately after the fight, before we left the Octagon, I just said ‘You know I really admire you for being such a great, dominant champion. A lot of us wouldn’t be here without you, so I appreciate you.”

King asked bluntly if Rousey was a bad sport. This followed a question about Rousey refusing to touch gloves.

Holm took the high road. A far higher road than any other fighter would have.

“It’s okay,” Holm said. “It’s an emotional sport.”

The simple fact is, Rousey is a bad sport. And when you always win, you can get away with it. But when you lose, the chickens come home to roost.

However, Holly Holm has the highest character, and did not go there.

“You know .. I think that she has done great for the sport,”
began Holm. “Because she’s so passionate about what she does. And carries this confidence about her … Everybody has their own ways of dealing with the emotions of this sport. So I’m not going to judge her.”
