UFC 205: Alvarez vs McGregor, arguably the biggest MMA card ever, goes down on November 12, 2016 at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. MMA superstar Conor McGregor will look for becoming the first fighter to hold two UFC belts simultaneously.

UFC 205 is obviously a huge event for the UFC as it takes place in the state of New York, a state in which professional MMA was banned until recently. The UFC has lobbied hard to overturn New York’s ban of professional MMA, and their efforts paid off. The world’s leading MMA promotion is looking to put on a memorable event now that the doors have opened.

UFC 205 might be the most stacked card in MMA history. The card features THREE championship bouts (Eddie Alvarez vs Conor McGregor, Tyron Woodley vs Stephen Thompson and Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz), and a plethora of great fighters such as Rashad Evans, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Frankie Edgar, Miesha Tate, Donald Cerrone, and Chris Weidman.

The biggest star of the card and current Featherweight champion of the world, Irishman Conor McGregor, will challenge Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight strap. Should McGregor emerge victorious he would become the first UFC fighter to hold two titles simultaneously, which obviously would be an amazing accomplishment.

Conor McGregor is a fierce, creative, skilled striker. I think that it’s a no-brainer. Many fans and opponents have criticized him in the past though, mainly wondering if his ground game really was elite. A lot of observers were curious to see if McGregor could handle Chad Mendes’s wrestling back at UFC 189; well, the Irishman did so, weathering the early wrestling storm and coming back to TKO Mendes.

Alvarez is a great wrestler himself, as demonstrated notably in his fight against Anthony Pettis. Well, McGregor seems aware of that as he is obviously taking wrestling very seriously ahead of their big clash at UFC 205.
