Toyota was a veteran of twelve fights, but only had a 5-6-1 record coming into the fight. It was only Choi’s sixth professional MMA fight, but was a very experienced kick boxer.
The fight starts with a customary touching of the gloves and Toyota starts to circle around the cage to avoid his much taller opponent. Choi calmly controls the center of the cage and stalks his his adversary. This last over a minute before either fight attempts an actual strike.
Toyota makes the first move, leaping in with a barrage of punches but catches a counter hook that drops him. He however recovers immediately and temporarily grabs around his opponent’s body before returning to to exchange wild punches. The two both land, but it is Toyota who lands a monstrous right hook in the exchange catching Choi clean on the chin and knocking him out.
