Wow! Who is this guy? Someone sign him to the UFC immediately! Oh would you look at that, they signed him back in 2014. I guess I’m a little late. That’s probably why they run the premier MMA organization of the entire world and I write internet articles that no one reads.
Alright, alright, before you go lighting up the comments section, I’ll admit it; I do actually know who Paul Felder is. The guy won his UFC debut by KO via spinning backfist, then took on Edson Barboza, Ross Pearson and Darron Cruickshank. It’s nearly impossible to have not heard Felder’s name before, even if you’re just a casual fan. And let’s just say I’m slightly more than a casual fan. I study every fight on a tube television in my parents’ basement with a bag of potato chips resting on my beer belly. Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t, but if you’re going to visualize the loser that’s writing this, wouldn’t you prefer to think of me that way?
Back to Paul Felder’s final performance in CFFC, which was by all definitions of the term, dope as hell. Paul Felder came into the fight as the lightweight champion sporting an undefeated record of 7-0. His opponent, Craig Johnson, was 6-2 at the time. To be fair to both fighters, I haven’t seen the full fight video but I find it slightly hard to believe that this highlight reel was an unbiased representation of it. I mean, at the 7 second mark, they show Felder faking a kick and Johnson jumping backwards, only to be followed up by Johnson failing a takedown attempt and getting kneed in the head. The guy must have done something right at some point. Either way, this video is pure MMA domination and well worth a watch.
And hey UFC, if you’re reading this, you should check out this little guy Demetrious Johnson. I think he fights in the WEC. He’s really good.
