Referee Herb Dean is known of the world’s best and most respected referees. Dean is present at almost every UFC event and is often brought into other big promotions to be the third man in the ring.

In most professional mixed martial arts, there is a level of respect between the two fighters and most of the times, both obey the commands of the referee.

But sometimes they don’t. In his heavyweight right at Road FC, Dean found himself in a tough position when he stopped the fight and then had to physically try and stop Aorigele from continuing to pound Kim Jae-Hun after Dean ended the fight.

At 6’1″ 225 lbs., Dean himself is no small man, but as you can see in the video, he had his hands full with 6’2″ 320 lbs. Aorigele who for some reason didn’t want to stop when Herb decided his opponent had enough.

The fight opened with both fighters touching gloves as a sign of respect. Aorigele landed a good luck kick and the two started swingy widly when Aorigele landed a solid punch that dropped his opponent. He follows his opponent to the ground and lands some more punches, but Jae-Hun gets up. Some more wild swinging and Jae-Hun goes down. Twenty-four seconds into the fight, Dean had seen enough and jumps in to stop the fight.

That should be the end of it. But Aorigele refused to stop. Dean had to grab him hard and try to stop him from punching, and even puts him in a half nelson. Finally he has able to stop him from punching as other officials jump into the cage and help break him up the action.
