Ray Borg vs Ricky Bandejas has been added to Eagle FC’s return to Miami, Fla. in March.

On Friday, promotion boss — and former UFC lightweight demigod — Khabib Nurmagomedov announced the fight to his 1.8 million followers on his Twitter account. “@EagleFightClub March 11th Ray Borg VS Ricky Bandejas, Flex Arena in Miami,” Nurmagodmedov wrote.

The bantamweight matchup will join a March 11 card at the FLXcast Arena set to be headlined by former UFC title challengers, and recent promotion additions, Diego Sanchez and Kevin Lee.

Borg — a one-time UFC flyweight title challenger — made his Eagle FC 44 debut in January at the promotion’s inaugural US event in the same venue and location as the planned March card. On that night he defeated UFC and Tachi Palace veteran Cody Gibson by unanimous decision. It was “The Tazmexican Devil’s” second straight win following his release from the MMA world leader after a May 2020 loss to Ricky Simon.

Bandejas will be making his first appearance in Eagle FC versus Borg. Following a 3-4 run in Bellator and eventual release, he went 2-1 competing for Combate Global. With his most recent win coming in Dec. as an alternate in the Copa Combate one-night tourney.
