In her first ever tutorial for the official Mayweather Boxing Channel, Invicta FC star Raquel Pa’aluhi demonstrates her favorite triangle choke set up, on Jeff Mayweather, inside the Mayweather Boxing Club.
Pa’aluhi reports that Mayweather is a former Div 4 All American wrestler. There isn’t a Div 4, but it may stand for “Dammit” according to Jeff.
At the end of the clear tutorial, Mayweather was asked if he learned anything.
“Yes,” he replied. “I don’t want to f@$%in’ be choked!”
Pa’aluhi currently trains under Robert Drysdale in Las Vegas, Nevada, and earned a purple belt from him. However, she was born in Waianae, Hawaii, and learned to fight in The Aloha State.
“Hawaiians are just tough,” said Pa’aluhi recently to Bleacher Report. “Everyone is very scrappy, that’s our culture. People don’t understand, here you’re either on the football field or the boxing gym. We’re fighters, we’re warriors. It’s in our bloodline.”
it truly is.
Raquel’s father, Kawika Pa’aluhi was a state champion wrestler in high school, and a pioneer of MMA in Hawai’i. He won the tournament at SuperBrawl 1, the first ever MMA event in the state. And it was under rules that allowed headbutts and stomps.
Jeff Mayweather is the IBO junior lightweight world champion, and currently works as a trainer. His students include boxers Sultan Ibragimov and Celestino Caballero, and he is the boxing coach for UFC heavyweight Roy “Big Country” Nelson.
He too comes from a fighting family.
Jeff’s brothers are former welterweight contender Floyd Mayweather, Sr. and two-division world champion Roger Mayweather. His nephew is world champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. the finest boxer of his generation, and perhaps the greatest defensive boxer of any generation.
The Mayweather Boxing Channel is the exclusive home of Roger, Floyd Sr. and Jeff Mayweather.
