There is a well-publicized hurricane-type storm brewing that is set to reach land on August 20th, 2016 at UFC 202 when Nate Diaz takes on Conor McGregor for the second time in just five months. The rivalry and hype behind this fight was ignited with a fury when Nate Diaz shocked the world by choking out one of the best trash talkers since Muhammad Ali.

The first fight between the two made history as it was the first time a fighter’s disclosed pay was a million dollars. That’s right; Conor McGregor was paid a cool one million dollars to simply make the walk from the locker room to the octagon. He didn’t even have to have a highlight reel finish or even put on a dazzling performance; he simply had to show up. Furthermore, due to the nature of his trash talk this fight immediately became more intriguing than if it were simply to be announced by the UFC.

The aforementioned trash talk has become synonymous with McGregor and it appears that his creative linguistic attacks leave no stone unturned or any stereotype untouched. As a matter of fact, the talk has such influence that even those closest to his opponents are touched by it and not everyone finds it as funny or light hearted as some and sometimes take it personally.

As seen below, Diaz’s teammate as well as well-recognized and accomplished fighter in his own right, Jake Shields, has publicly stated that he will fight McGregor in the streets. It is not uncommon for people to willingly SAY that they will fight someone in the streets but knowing the brothers from Stockton and the company they keep I would have to believe that the comment has some truth behind it.
