Bellator 149 was heavily criticized for its freakshow main and co-main – Royce Gracie vs, Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice vs. Dada 5000. The show did incredible ratings. Dada’s heart stopped, and his kidneys stopped functioning, and he nearly died; the backyard brawl promoter was released from the hospital after two weeks, and, mercifully, is on the road to recovery.
Now UR Show is showing Bellator what a freakshow really looks like, on March 18 in Phoenix, Ariz.
It has four main events:
•Dan Severn, 57, vs. Tank Abbott, 50, in an MMA fight;
•Michael Bisping vs. Chael Sonnen in a grappling match;
•Ray Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle in a professional wrestling exhibition bout; and,
•Roy Jones Jr. vs. 5-3 MMA fighter Vyron Phillips, who won a contest for the honor. This will be a boxing match, with Phillips making $100,000, if he wins.
