Violence is inherently linked to the sport of mixed martial arts. Fans are used to it; when someone gets brutally pounded, it is part of the game after all. Thing is, sometimes the level of brutality displayed in MMA can make for a pretty hard watching experience, as demonstrated in the following footage.

Alptekin Ozkilic and Josh Robinson were set to go at it on February 15, 2013 at the Rumble Time Promotions – Rage on the River event. The following footage below shows what happened during round 2 as Ozkilic was in Robinson’s guard.

You’re probably cringing right now. I mean, this has to be one of the most, if not the most, brutal beatings ever in MMA history. Ozkilic’s elbows just smashed Robinson’s face, which bounced left and right as the mauling was going on.

But that is not all. Didn’t you notice something in the footage? If you have noticed that Robinson was basically asking Ozkilic to pound him, then congratulations, you are definitely not crazy, and have a sharp ear.

At the beginning of the footage, Ozkilic landed three vicious elbows to Robinson’s face. Now, there are various ways to react to that… What would you have done? Probably cover up, trying to weather the storm. Or maybe try to retaliate with strikes of your own, or maybe threaten your opponent with a submission. Robinson, though, casually let his guard down and yelled ‘Come on! Hit me motherf**ker!’ at Ozkilic…

Pause.

Ok, that’s (super f***ing) ballsy. But I’m not sure this is what you want to do when your opponent is delivering crushing elbows to your face. Unsurprisingly, the MMA fighter gladly accepted his foe’s request and delivered a total of 7 BRUTAL elbows straight to Robinson’s face before the referee stepped in to stop the bout. This finish might just be one of the craziest ones I’ve ever seen, from Robinson’s dramatic reaction to getting elbowed to the gut-wrenching finish.

Oh MMA, you never fail to deliver.
