Step aside Wanderlei Silva, there’s a new ‘Axe Murderer’ in town – none other than retired UFC star Miesha Tate!
Apparently, this was Tate’s first time throwing axes, but she proved to be a natural, landing four of them with precision accuracy into a nearby tree trunk.
The video was taken while Tate enjoyed a break in the Lake Tahoe area of California.
An avid outdoorswoman, Tate also hiked up the Rubicon Peak Trail, a four mile route with a peak elevation of 9100ft, which included having to navigate some snowy terrain near the summit.

On another hike up a mountain at Mary Jane Falls in the Nevada region back in September of last year, Tate was hailed a hero after she carried a six-year-old girl who had fallen and broken her arm two miles down the trail to safety.
At the time, Tate was still an active UFC fighter, but she shocked fans just a couple of months later when she announced in the Octagon that she was retiring from the sport after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205.
Earlier in the year, Tate had fulfilled her dream of becoming the UFC’s bantamweight champion after a last-gasp submission victory in the fifth round against Holly Holm.
The popular star then went up against Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 200, an event that would garner 1.2 million pay-per-view buys, but it proved to be a tough night for Tate, who would succumb to a first-round submission.
Tate retired with an overall 15-7 career record, but given that she was still relatively young, fans held out hope that she might change her mind and make a comeback.

However, so far that’s not been the case, with Tate appearing to be enjoying life after fighting.
If I was going to come back, (Rousey) would be the fight that would appeal to me the most, Tate told fans in London at a Q&A back in March. But at the moment, I’m sorry – it’s just not what I see in my future.
