Joe Lauzon is one of the UFC’s most exciting lightweight fighters as is evident by his thirteen fight night bonus awards. Lauzon has been applying his trade in the UFC’s Octagon for almost a decade, but before that he was a scrappy kid from East Bridgewater fighting on the local circuit.

Lauzon is also older brother of Dany Lauzon, a three-time UFC veteran and like most brothers have likely had their fare share of scraps growing up. However, this one time the backyard scrap was an actual real MMA fight that took place at their family house during an annual pig roast.

The two were much younger than they are now, but both had been training in mixed martial arts and Joe was already fighting locally in Massachusetts.

Back before either were in the UFC they squared off in a real MMA fight…in their parents backyard. (Watch Part 1). Big brother Joe won the first fight tapping out his younger by triangle choke!

In this clip released by Lauzon recently the two fight again at the behest of Dany who wasn’t happy about the result of the first fight and shoved his brother after the fight. And by again we mean immediately after the first fight.

The fight goes a little different, but the result is the same with big brother Joey winning by submission, this time with a rear naked choke.

About Joe Lauzon

TRAINING: I train three to five 60-minute sessions a day, 6 days a week… In between Xbox raids on Destiny. I try to sleep 10 hours a day too… Because rest is important, and I like my sleep.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started submission grappling for fun, and it has all snowballed from there. I began helping training partners train for their fights and wanted to give it a try.

Do you have any heroes? My Dad

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It will make explaining the type of fighting I do a lot easier. I no longer have to go into a big explanation of “Have you seen the UFC? I do that, but haven’t fought there yet.” I can just say, “I fight in the UFC”.
