If you’ve wondered where Jose Aldo has been since his knockout loss to Conor McGregor, he’s been in his home country of Brazil training his ass off while campaigning for a shot at the featherweight title.

He has publicly stated that he refuses to fight again unless it is for the featherweight title or against Conor McGregor. If you were to check his twitter (@JoseAldoJunior) you’d think the fight had already been announced for UFC 200, but all of the rumors circulating suggest that McGregor will be taking on Nate Diaz in a rematch at that event.

It is hard to imagine the former champion fighting for anything but the title. Every fight he has had in the UFC has been a title fight, more specifically defending his title. He may have been defeated, but he is still undoubtedly the best featherweight of all time.

In the video below, we get to see a glimpse of a sparring session between him and kickboxing lightweight legend Andy Souwer, who is now 1-0 as a mixed martial artist himself. But if you’re unfamiliar with him, Souwer holds wins over some of the best in his sport, including Buakaw, Masato, and Mike Zambidis, just to give you a small taste of what he is capable of. For Aldo to be able to even hold his own in striking exchanges with someone of such a high caliber is impressive.
