Snoop Dogg (real name Snoop Doggy Dogg, and prior to that Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr.) is a big mixed martial arts fan. He even puts MMA into his lyrics, albeit unintentionally – “You Can Put It In A Zag, I’mma Put It In A Blunt.”

In all seriousness though, Snoop has been a huge MMA for many years, frequently seen cageside at UFC PPV events. He entered the MMA apparel market as a partner in and briefly president of Serious Pimp. He even won a $20,000 bet with UFC president Dana White prior to UFC 125 when White bet that his hometown Celtics would beat the Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals.

Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s “High Road Tour” touched down recently at the Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently, and UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones reversed roles. Instead of Snoop Dogg watching the champ, Jones watched the artist.

The pair caught up back stage afterwards, and were engaged in a friendly slap boxing game, when Jones executed his signature spinning elbow.

Snoop was impressed, and asked to learn it, so Jones obliged.

As to when Jon Jones will appear before an audience, it remains uncertain, but hopeful. Jones failed a PED test right before UFC 200, and was removed from the card. However, there are multiple indications that Jones’ failure legitimately was due to generic Cialis, and that it was entirely inadvertent. That being the case, his suspension, if any, is likely to be far shorter than the usual two years.
