The idea of humanoid robots fighting each other in the ring using martial arts technique might sound like something out of a futuristic science fiction movie, but it’s actually something that’s happening right now in modern day Japan.

In fact, for several years now robotic technology egg-heads have been working on perfecting the art of robot fighting and judging by this video they are getting pretty damn good at it.

The smaller white robot in the video, G-Saaga is something of a legend in this world as it’s a multiple-time champion who has been able to overcome other robots of all different shapes and sizes.

Jokingly dubbed ‘Bot Lesnar’ by some fans, Saaga’s signature move sees it perform picture-perfect single and double-leg suplexes, and that’s been a major factor in its success over the years.

In this match-up, G-Saaga was going up against King Kizer, a Goliath among fighting robots, standing 3ft 2 tall and known for dishing out a mean drop kick that can knock its opponents off their feet.

So, in essence, it was a classic striker vs. grappler match-up, and as has been shown many times over the years in MMA, it’s often the takedown specialist who ends up victorious in that instance.

Such was the case here as Saaga took Kizer to Suplex City during the fight with multiple takedowns, while also using his strong base to remain upright in the face of repeated drop kicks.

However, G-Saaga also showed it’s no slouch in the striking department either as at one stage it knocked Kizer out of the ring with what looked like a cheeky spinning backfist!

In the end, it was a dominant win for G-Saaga, serving as a warning to the world’s top MMA fighters that now is the time to step up their game, as the rise of the robots is clearly almost upon us!
