This backyard fight had all the making of a David vs. Goliath showdown as a burly barroom brawler went up against a much smaller opponent with a background in kickboxing.

The fight took place in Harrisonburg, Virginia, a city with the dubious distinction of being dubbed, ‘The meth capital of the world.’

It’s also the home of the underground fight promotion, ‘Streetbeefs’, run by an ex-con who goes by the name of ‘Scarface’, who arranges for local fighters of all shapes and sizes to settle their differences at a makeshift location known as ‘Satan’s backyard’.

At first glance the match-up they have scheduled on this particular day looks like a complete mismatch.

At one end of the yard stands a veritable man-mountain by the name of ‘Big’ Ryan, an impossibly burly brawler who boasts of having won 50 barroom brawls.

Standing opposite him is a fighter who carries the nickname, ‘The Jordanian Nightmare’.

His opponent appears to be twice his body weight and is a foot taller, but he shows no fear, as he is a ‘Streetbeefs’ regular and is confident that his kickboxing skills will help him to overcome the brute before him.

The bout begins and ‘Big’ Ryan lands an early right hand to the nose of his opponent, sending his head snapping back.

Undeterred, ‘The Jordanian Nightmare’ lands a solid kick to the hulking midsection of his rival that connects with an audible smack.

Ryan catches the kick, but ‘Nightmare’ cuffs him with a right hook while balancing on one-leg that sends the brawler reeling off to one side before falling to the grass, while still trying to hold onto his opponent’s leg.

’Nightmare’ scrambles to break free from his grip and then rains down some ground and pound punches as Ryan struggles back to his feet.

However, he’s barely got back upright when ‘Nightmare’ connects with a two-piece combo that floors him and ends the fight.

Despite the swift beat down, Ryan didn’t appear to hold a grudge afterward and chuckled as he told the crowd watching the fight that, “he knocked me out my damn shoe!
