One of the most fascinating aspects of combat sports is the fact that a fight has the potential to end at any second. Football doesn’t offer anything similar to this, neither does basketball or baseball. If the Dallas Cowboys were down 42-14 in the 4th quarter they’d still need to score multiple touchdowns to close the gap. It’s not like Tony Romo can launch a 60 yard Hail Mary pass that’ll magically put the Cowboys up 49-42.

Things don’t work that way in professional sports. If the Red Sox are down by 5 runs, Big Papi hitting a solo homerun will only give Boston 1 run. The Red Sox would never leapfrog their opponent and be up by 2, that’d be lunacy. In combat sports, however these extremely odd examples happen with great frequency.

The following clip is a prime example of losing and winning on a dime.

Bendy Casimir opens up the second round with a nice inside lowkick. Curtis Demarce gets Casimir on the defensive with pressure and high volume output. Demarce’s flurry begins with a body kick, he then mixes up his strikes to the head and body. Casimir does a decent job of covering up to avoid excessive damage.

Demarce rips to the body with hooks and some uppercuts. He follows up by throwing hooks to the body and head. Casimir is visibly flustered and moving around the cage in hopes of an opening to catch a break.

Demarce smells blood and begins to chase Casimir across the cage while throwing punches. As Casimir is covering up, he goes for broke by throwing and landing a Hail Mary spinning back fist. The blow drops Demarce and Casimir follows up with ground and pound before the fight was called.
