BATTLE OF THE TASTEFUL NOODS
Social networks are one of the primary forces driving MMA fighter popularity today. Fighters share training images, pics of low calorie meals, pics of post fight feasts, and scenes as seen out the car window. A few female fighters add another compelling dimension to the mix – the tasteful nood.
Being a field defined by competition, it is only natural to wonder who the most tastefully nood fighter in the MMA space is.
In the Red Corner, we have Invicta FC flyweight, Legacy FC world flyweight champ, three-time world Muay Thai champ, three-time BJJ wold champion, and Relson Gracie purple belt Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee.

And in the Blue Corner …
ANGELA MAGANA
And in the Blue Corner we have a fighter who enthusiastically, even gleefully embraces her sexuality on social media – UFC strawweight Angela Magana, who inspirationally rose from a childhood marred by her mother’s ultimately fatal drug addiction.
Known to her fans as Your Majesty, Magana tastefully pushes the boundaries of what is normal for female fighters on social media, sometimes even for progressive political ends.

The issue of sexuality in WMMA is a controversial one. Fighters at all levels of the sport, male and female alike, now put asses in seats using social media, and from GSP to KGB, sex appeal can be a factor.
Former Olympic medalist in wresting and the #6 ranked UFC women’s bantamweight Sara McMann is raising a daughter, so the issue is all the more important to her. She is fully aware that being a professional fighter affects her daughter’s view of women in the world.
I think it makes her believe that women are a lot more powerful than sometimes they can be portrayed, said McMann. Sometimes women are portrayed in a really soft role – turn the other cheek and accept anything that comes your way. Women are more prized for their looks. I think that, for her, she sees that you can be a strong, assertive woman in the things that you want, if you’re going to work for it.
I think there are a lot of people that are more old school. They definitely see that women should act a certain way, and that if they don’t act that way, then something is amiss. What if you saw a man act the exact same way, you wouldn’t bat an eye.
But I think that it is coming along. Women are allowed to be more assertive, and say what they want, and say how they feel. They can still put out their own pictures and own their own sexuality.
You can be okay with that – not have to feel like if you’re doing that you’re being more slutty. You can be beautiful and a fighter … If you want to be a sexy woman, be a sexy woman. I don’t like anybody if they are apologetic about it. If that is what you want, own it. Be exactly who you are.
That is advice we can all take to heart.
