Are you wondering what could possibly make a fighter give up so quickly? So are we! Check out the video below to help us piece it together and figure it out!
You may be familiar with Conor McGregor’s thirteen second knockout of Jose Aldo, or even Ronda Rousey’s fourteen second submission of Cat Zingano. It is hard to imagine a fight being finished any quicker than those two, but this video highlights two instances where fights end even quicker than those previously mentioned.

When the bell rings to officially start a mixed martial arts bout, traditionally both fighters will meet in the middle of the ring or cage to touch gloves, showcasing their sportsmanship before beginning the contest immediately afterward. When a bout is highly anticipated or particularly heated in the buildup, fighters will occasionally agree to skip touching gloves, going straight into the fight that everyone has been waiting for. But it isn’t very often that a competitor skips the fighting portion of a contest and goes directly into submitting to his opponent instead.
You’d have to assume that they were either injured and in desperate need of a payday or just lost their will to fight on their way to the cage, but either way it is anything but professional. Their opponents who have poured their heart and soul into training leading up to their bouts are left without an opponent, ruining their opportunity to make a name for themselves or gain any experience.
Watch below as Bas Rutten and Kenny Rice view and then discuss the incidents that have taken place! What do you think could have possibly been their reasons for what they did and could they have been good enough to excuse their behavior? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
