Buakaw Banchamek is without a doubt one of the most legendary and well-respected Muay Thai practitioners to ever come out of Thailand, which says a lot. Anyone who is a big fan of the sport will know his name and body of work, but after over 240 professional kickboxing bouts Buakaw is now looking to make his way into the sport of mixed martial arts.

One of the most exciting aspects of MMA is getting the chance to see styles collide. When Buakaw steps into the cage, he will arguably be the single greatest Muay Thai stylist to ever compete in the sport of MMA.

It is nearly guaranteed that anyone he fights will take the path of least resistance and attempt to take him down, but will his Muay Thai clinch and knees be enough to stop them from doing that successfully? There is only one way to find out.

Born as Sombat Banchamek in Surin, Thailand, Buakaw started his fighting career at the age of eight in his home province of Surin in the northeastern Thailand.
