Body builders aren’t necessarily known for their fighting skills. Although physically intimidating, they generally train for competitions and to look big. Also that much muscle takes a lot of oxygen, so the cardio vascular conditioning of a body builder is likely not suited to competing for three five-minute rounds. Not too mention their is stringent drug testing in mixed martial arts.
But it’s an interesting prospect to consider. Could a man as big as Kali Muscle actually transition to compete in mixed martial arts?
In this video released by the famous body builder, he shows himself training to do exactly that, transition from body building to mixed martial arts. The video shows ‘Muscle’ hitting mitts and working on his kicks. He then explains a bit about his decision to transition to MMA:
About Kali Muscle
Kali Muscle is a man that tosses this stereotype on its head like a rusty old dumbbell.
Bodybuilder, gang leader, ex-con, philosopher, actor, author, philanthropist, motivational speaker, father.Mr Muscle (a name which would have had more brevity were it not for the aerosol oven cleaner) has been all of these over the course of his life.
Perhaps more importantly, however, this muscle-bound polymath has also become an inspirational figure.
His chequered path from ex-con to icon has blazed a trail through the bodybuilding world and he has become a shimmering example of what anyone, regardless of their aspiration or background, can achieve when all the odds are stacked heavily against them.
