The beauty of the martial arts is, in an aspect, suggested in the name of the subject but vastly overlooked by the majority of people: arts. What is unique about art is that it allows for a creative pathway with an infinite number of options for a person to express themselves. Imagine travelling from point A to point B; logic dictates that you take the most direct path, a path which would more than likely be determined by science and mathematics in the form of an algorithm to describe the most efficient pathway, but what if you were allowed to simply figure it out? This is exactly what the martial arts allows a person to do.

When someone is fighting an opponent that outweighs them, is stronger than them, or is simply better than they are there is not exactly a formula in place to solve this problem or figure out the dilemma before you are sent into the dark lands in an oftentimes brutal fashion. A person must get creative to defeat this type of opponent and this is exactly where martial arts shine.

In a true mixed martial arts contest, two skillsets are put to the ultimate test to see which one is more effective. In the video below, we see a martial artist with a huge problem on his hands…literally. The young martial artist featured in the video below is greatly outsized, however; he is not outmatched. What the young man is lacking in size, he more than makes up for in skill but will it be enough to topple the behemoth in front of him?
