Gabrielle (Gabi) Garcia is a female mixed martial arts fighter and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner currently fighting for the Japanese promotion Rizin Fighting Federation. She is currently undefeated in the promotion and MMA in general with a record three wins, zero losses.
On September 25th, 2016 Gabi took on Destanie Yarbrough who is a female professional football player where she is a running back in the Women’s Football Alliance. She, like Gabi was undefeated going into their fight from Saitama, Japan.
This fight had mismatch written all over it before it began. Gabi Garcia is the MUCH larger framed woman. She is around six-foot two inches tall and weighed in for this one at two hundred, forty-four pounds – that’s big for a man let alone a female. Not to mention she
is the much more experienced and skilled fighter.
Destanie Yarbrough is absolutely dwarfed when you see these two stare down before the fight commences. Though Gabi is technically only about twenty pounds heavier, her frame and musculature is absolute enormous for a woman and much larger than her opponent’s.

The fight commences at the one minute, forty-five second mark and you’ve got to hand it to Yarbrough. At least she’s attacking, landing a solid low kick. Though in reality she may just be delaying the inevitable – Garcia is the much larger and skilled fighter. But if Destanie has any chance of winning, it’s going to be on the feet.
That is why it’s bizarre when she attempts a take-down and initiates the clinch with Gabi. That’s either a blunder on her part or her coaches.
She goes for a take-down again and ends up on the ground with Gabi on top dropping some hard punches and knees to the head on the ground (legal in Japan). Shortly thereafter, Gabi locks up an Americana shoulder locks and Destanie is forced to tap out.
