At Intense Championship Fighting 24 on April 9th of this year, Conall Powers and Richard Kohlman squared off in a mixed martial arts bout. What makes this bout noteworthy? Conall Powers is only a fifteen year old boy, fighting a fully grown man.

I’m hoping he doesn’t read this article, because I would hate if he saw my referring to him as a boy, as it seems he would likely be able to mop the floor with me if he set out to do so.

It only took him a matter of seconds once the bell had rung to successfully put his hands on and rock his opponent with strikes. His opponent began to scramble for a takedown which he was eventually able to land, but it wasn’t long after until the fifteen year old Conall Powers was able to successfully sweep his opponent straight into the mount position, setting up the end of the fight.

From there, he maintained the position, continuing to throw and land strikes until the referee was forced to call an end to the bout, declaring the fifteen year old the winner by first round TKO.

This is just another perfect example of how you cannot underestimate any opponent, regardless of their looks, age, or size. The twenty-three year old likely took the fight expecting to pick up an easy win, but that couldn’t have been further from what actually happened.
