Everyone loves a come from behind victory. The turn of events is truly a roller coaster ride of emotion.

There was a time when fight fans were salty towards Frankie Edgar; many resented the fact that he was the man that dethroned the lightweight demigod known as BJ Penn. Their minds and hearts were forever changed in his two title bouts with Gray Maynard.

The first round of the trilogy fight was almost a replay of their previous bout. Edgar was tagged, battered, and nearly finished. He preserved remaining calculated and efficient racking up points and momentum.

In the 4th round, Edgar successfully put Maynard away with strikes earning him the victory and the respect of fight fans across the world.

In the clip below we see a perfect example of a fighter being down, but certainly not out.

For reference, our fighters will be referred to by their trunk color. The video begins with Mr. Red delivering a solid body kick to his opponent’s ribs. The strike drops Mr. Blue; as he gets up it seems to be the beginning of the end.

Mr. Red follows up with a hard low kick and a grazing body kick; Mr. Blue is backpedaling and finds himself trapped in a corner. A combination of being off balance and an overhand elbow from Mr. Red momentarily drops Mr. Blue.

He quickly gets up and Mr. Red is walking him down confidently. While on his bike, Mr. Blue launches a jumping high kick that lands flush; instantaneously knocking out Mr. Red. The crowd erupts in shock!

The primal rush of adrenaline and its relief is shown in Mr. Blue’s outburst of celebration. Seeing him on his knees pounding the canvas is a sight to behold.
