The striking and manipulation of pressure points has long been a part of many traditional martial arts fighting systems. For nearly as long as these concepts have existed, they have been doubted, and often times even laughed at.
This video begins with somewhat of a disclaimer, or what some may call a preemptive defense of the much maligned and highly debatable technique: Call it what you want, but the fact is, they went down.
The man delivering these strikes, Asa Seeley, started his martial arts journey at just 8 years old. Asa has continuously followed his passion and dedicated himself to studying numerous styles; starting with Aikido and Judo, he moved on to Jeet Kune Do, Boxing, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, Kempo, and others.
He achieved a level of Black Sash in the art of Wah Lum Gung Fu (Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu) in 1998, and then dived deeper into the study of RyuKyu Kempo and pressure point fighting under a number of different masters. Currently he holds a Master’s degree in the art of Ryukyu Kempo and a Master’s Degree in Kyusho Jitsu, as well as the Black Sash in Kung Fu. He teaches Daily classes in his own school as well as teaching International seminars since 2003and has appeared in many international magazine articles, DVD’s, and books with his teachers and friends as well as with other Grand Masters.
The video shows a series of clips in which Seeley renders other martial artists unconscious with unconventional strikes that many times seem to cause a somewhat dramatized reaction.
The question of course is are the KOs genuine, or is it a simple case of auto suggestion. The decisive test would be the application of the knockouts in a combative sports or self defense situation. The former would be easy to arrange. Indeed, there are countless thousands of legitimate martial artists who would willing to engage a No Touch master in a contest with any real rule set. That would provide a decisive answer.
Not one No Touch master has every tried it for real, unfortunately.
