One of the most talked fights of 2014 was not in the cage, but in the fighting arena of Kings Landing in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
In the Season 4 episode ‘The Mountain vs The Viper’ we saw Tyrion Lannister get his Trial by Combat after his champion Oberyn Martell volunteered his services and took on ‘The Mountain’ Ser Gregor Clegane who was representing Cersei Lannister, in a bid to save Tyrion from execution but to also serve justice and avenge the deaths of his sister and her two children.

In this behind the scenes featurette, we get insight into the Chinese Wushu training that Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) had to undertake, what it’s like to work with ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and how they went about filming the two contrasting combative styles together (with the addition of dialogue) in what turned out to be one of the most memorable and shocking duels of the entire series.

About Game of Thrones:
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled A Game of Thrones.
The series is set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, and interweaves several plot lines with a large ensemble cast. The first narrative arc follows a civil war among several noble houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the attempts to reclaim the throne by the exiled last scion of the realm’s deposed ruling dynasty; the third chronicles the rising threat of the impending winter and the legendary creatures and fierce peoples of the North.
