A pair of rising talents face each other in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance’s featherweight championship at Kearney’s Viaero Event Center on Nov. 30. Jordan Rinaldi and Jared Downing headline the RFA’s first-ever title fight at 145 pounds. RFA 5 includes 12 bouts that begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30. Rinaldi and Downing are RFA veterans and boast of careers with wins over some of the sport's top fighters. Rinaldi (6-0) of Charlotte, N.C., trains at legendary Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu and appeared in March as one of 32 finalists on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality TV series. Rinaldi’s fight resume includes a win over UFC vet Dennis Bermudez. He also won an eye-opening fight at RFA 3 in June over talented up-and-comer Mark Dickman. Downing (9-1) fought on the first two RFA cards in Kearney, defeating Eric Marriott at RFA 1 and Alessandro Ferreira at RFA 2. Fighting out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Downing is respected as an all-around fighter with strong standup skills.
