On April 5th, 2008 Mainstream Mixed Martial Arts 9, "New Era" will feature a double main event with 2 Championship bouts in one night at the Vets Coliseum, downtown Cedar Rapids. Joe Pearson will be defending his Lightweight Championship against the undefeated Erik Koch and Local fan favorite Tom Grubb will get his shot at the Middleweight Championship when he faces Elite Performance's Brian Monaghan, who has a reputation for feeding undefeated fighters their first loss. Also Derrick Mehmen and Rashad Brooks will fight for #1 contendership status in the Light Heavyweight Division along with an undercard of the area's top MMA talent.
