Fallon’s ‘Rural Rumble 2012’ Showcases Nevada Boxers, Mixed Martial Artists Tickets on sale now for Aug. 25 Churchill County Fairgrounds event Fallon, Nev. (July 27, 2012) — The City of Fallon, Nev. and Let’s Get It On Promotions are pleased to announce the fifth annual “Fallon Fights: Rural Rumble ’12,” Saturday Aug. 25 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. “Rural Rumble 2012” will feature world-class professional boxing along with amateur MMA bouts featuring local MMA stars. Tickets are on sale now. The sensational Vasquez brothers of Reno will anchor the boxing part of the show and look to shine. Oscar Vasquez (2-1) returns to Fallon after an action packed win over Vincente Medellin last year. Oscar’s younger brother, Santos, will be making his highly anticipated professional debut at Rural Rumble 2012. Santos, who was a top USA boxing amateur and nearly a member of the 2012 USA Olympic team, is setting on his way to a world title shot. Oscar is scheduled to face Edwin Reyes (0-0-2) of Las Vegas in a six-round, Flyweight bout. Santos is slated to fight Julio Gomez (1-0) of New Mexico in a four-round, Jr. Flyweight bout. In a local special attraction bout, Carson City’s undefeated Jr. Middleweight prospect Jose “Chuy” Elizondo (1-0) will be fighting Omar Zaldivar (1-1) of Fernley, Nev. in a four-rounder. Reno favorite “Bubba” Dupree (1-2) will also be fighting in a light heavyweight bout. Four exciting Mixed Martial Arts bouts are also scheduled, featuring some of the area’s top amateur talent. In a very special “Fallon vs. Fallon” middleweight attraction, Daniel Reece (1-1) will be fighting Tim Nunes (1-1). Reece vs. Nunes is a classic turf war as both are out to prove who is top dog in Churchill County! Cody Downs (1-0) and Justin Morasky (debut) also of Fallon, are slated to fight on the card as well in separate bouts. Down’s opponent is yet to be determined, while Morasky is slated to fight Brent Williams (debut) of Fernley, Nev. Carson City’s Alex Wayman will be making his anticipated MMA debut, in a middleweight attraction. Fight card subject to change. Fallon Fights 2012 will once again be held outdoors under the stars at the Churchill County Fairgrounds at 325 Sheckler Rd. A party bus will be traveling from Reno to Fallon for the fights.
