Event notes
Our main event features CSU-Pueblo wrestler and Bellator veteran Nick Mamalis against Texas based Randy Villarreal. Nick is trying to work his way back into a bigger show and looks to do so on his home turf at CSU-Pueblo. Villarreal is coming in from Texas and wantsto prove that he belongs at the top of the 135lb division. He is the current cfc Bantamweight Champion. Both fighters have fought the majority of their careers at higher weight classes fighting at 145 and even 155lbs. At 135 lbs they both feel that they are 2 of the top fighters in the world. We are very excited to have Donnie Liles return to action after a 3 year layoff due to injury. He has fought in Strikeforce, IFL, and we are very honored to have him as part of our show. His experience is 2nd to none but he has a tough task ahead of him with the hard hitting and always game Jeremy Kimball. Kimball jumped at the opportunity to fight a guy like Donnie. This is the kind of fight that can elevate Jeremy to another level. The card is stacked from top to bottom and will feature 6 professional fights and 6 amateur fights. Kicking off the pro card will be Jen Berg who is the 12th ranked straw weight fighter in the world. She will be taking on Darla Harris who actually used to train with Jen at the Grudge Training Center. Justin "The Highlight" Gaethje will be taking his 2nd professional fight in less than 2 months. He was an NCAA D1 All-American for the University of Northern Colorado. He will be taking on fellow wrestlerJoe Kelso. Gaethje is coming off a huge win by K.O. (slam) over Bellator Vet Kevin Crooms and is looking to start his pro career off fast with 2 fights in 5 weeks. Bellator Vet Aaron Romero will take on Kreg Hartle this will be a hard fought battle with both guys being strikers, don’t blink! The match-up that local Pueblo fans are dying to see is one between Prentice Ingrahm and Manuel Gallardo. These two used to train together and have a mutual respect for one another but don’t expect either one to take it easy. This is a hometown rival and this fight will prove who the toughest 145lb fighter in Pueblo really is!! Our amateur fights are going to be great as well. Kyle Sand is making his MMA debut. Kyle is the only wrestler in CO history to go undefeated and win 4 state championships in his high school career. He was also a 2x National Champion in college. Kyle will be taking on heavy hitter Jeremy Mares who made his debut last year with a win on Bring the Thunder 1. Jeremy has heavy hands and is willing to stand and bang with anyone. Tyler Eberhardt and Nick Portillos both won on Bring the Thunder 1 as well and this fight will be fireworks from beginning to end. Local favorite Dominic Montoya is looking to establish dominance as an amateur and prove to everyone that he is ready to go pro.
