World Lethwei Championship (WLC), the world’s largest bare-knuckle fighting organization, have announced its return to Yangon for the first time this year. WLC: HEARTLESS TIGERS will see the return of ‘The Ironman’ Soe Linn Oo, who recently knocked out Muay Thai star Iquezhang, against China’s national kickboxing champion Zhao Wenwen. It will be Soe Lin Oo’s first appearance in World Lethwei Championship since the epic knockout of WBC Kickboxing champion Umar Semata last November.

Soe Lin Oo is one of the most recognizable Burmese sports stars. Nicknamed ‘The Ironman’ by his fans for his iron will, he has been unstoppable in the past year, beating world-class opponents like WBC Kickboxing Champion Umar Semata and Muay Thai legend Iquezhang by knockout.

Zhao Wen Wen is an established kickboxer hailing from Chongqing, China. A prodigy at a young age, he has been medaling in national championships since he was a teenager. Now just 21 years old, he gets his biggest opportunity on the global stage when he takes on Soe Lin Oo.

The event will also see the debut of Cambodian superstar Roeung Sophorn. Roeung Sophorn is WLC’s latest marquee signing and will bring the attention of millions of fans in his home country as he makes his Lethwei debut.

World Lethwei Championship is returning to Yangon with a bang, with international superstars like Roeung Sophorn coming to compete against the best Burmese Lethwei fighters, including Soe Lin Oo who will battle in the main event,” said Chairman of World Lethwei Championship U Zay Thiha. “The main event will be a battle of two of the world’s best striking talents and it will be the icing on what will be a spectacular show. This event will captivate the world and catapult Myanmar as an international sports hub!
