The UFC had the same belt, now dubbed the ‘Classic’ from 2001 to 2018. The ESPN Era begins, and with it comes a newborn baby belt, weighing in at 10.45 lbs. Designed by designed by Brad Flaherty and Jae El Manufacturing, the new belt is reportedly valued at the three times the cost of its predecessor. A second belt is only awarded for wins in a second division.

Each belt comes with a plate on the back, with a unique serial number assigned to the specific champion. UFC President Dana White’s engraved signature is included for authenticity.

The first belt will be awarded Saturday night at UFC on ESPN+ 1, and is customized, as detailed below.

The eight country icons represent the first eight countries that were home to UFC champions:USA – Mark Coleman; Canada – Carlos Newton; Brazil – Murilo Bustamante; Netherlands – Bas Rutten; Poland – Joanna Jedrzejczyk; Belarus – Andrei Arlovski; UK – Michael Bisping; Ireland – Conor McGregor.

The UFC logo in the middle is made of high-polished gold. The pattern underneath the logo is comprised of octagons and squares.

The 25 White Cubic Zirconia and Created Ruby stones and the 25 lines represent 25 Years of UFC. The Roman numerals represent 1993, the UFC’s inaugural year.

Each champion’s belt will be customized with the fighter’s name and weight class. Eight stones border the plate. For each victory in a championship bout going forward, one of the stones will be replaced with a red stone. The date and location of the win will be engraved adjacent to the stone. A champion may have more than one belt only if he/she holds titles in multiple weight classes.

The leather has a custom octagon pattern is embossed on the trim, and Octagonal snaps, each showcasing the UFC logo. A gold UFC World Champion logo adorns the middle of the right plate, with red stones representing more than eight championship victories.

The women’s belt is identical in design but sized slightly smaller.

And … Conor McGregor wants one.
