UFC on ESPN+ 42 weigh-ins results

UFC on ESPN+ 42, also known as UFC Vegas 17, UFC Fight Night 183, and UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal, will be held on December 19, 2020, at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The weigh-ins will stream live on The UnderGround from the UFC APEX.

The main event features former welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, ranked #5 in the division, vs. Geoff Nealm ranked #11 and in a five-fight win streak in the big show. In the co-main former and inaugural featherweight champion Jose Aldo, now ranked #7 at bantamweight, fights #15 Marlon Vera; the bout will be contested at bantamweight.

The card has been hit hard by COVID-19. The original main event was Khamzat Chimaev vs. Leon Edwards, but both tested positive; it will happen early in 2021. Belal Muhammad was supposed to fight Dhiego Lima, but was diagnosed with COVID-19 during fight week, and the bout was rescheduled for early 2021. A flyweight fight between Alexandre Pantoja and former Rizin FF bantamweight champion Manel Kape also delayed until next year when early this month Pantoja was diagnosed with COVID-19 sequelae. Aiemann Zahabi tested positive for COVID-19 and was out vs. Drako Rodriguez. And lastly, Karl Roberson vs. Dalcha Lungiambula was rescheduled to this card from UFC 256, when Roberson tested positive for COVID-19
