UFC on ESPN+ 40, also known as UFC Vegas 13, UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira, and UFC Fight Night 182, will be held on November 7 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
The weigh-ins will take place at the UFC APEX, and stream live on The UnderGround on Friday at Noon ET.
Former light heavyweight title challengers Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira fight in the main event. The Brazilian Teixeira began Jiu-Jitsu after moving to the USA, and lost his first MMA fight, bounced back with two wins, and lost again.
However, he then began a remarkable run, winning 15 in a row, all but one inside the distance, and that got him into the UFC. In the big show, he won five more in a row, the last two earning performance bonuses, before getting a title shot and losing a decision to Jon Jones. Next fight was a loss to Phil Davis, but Teixeira bounced back with three more wins before entering the worst stretch of his career, going 2-3 in a two year period from 2016-2018.
But Glover bounced back big, winning his last four, and picking up two more performance bonuses. If Teixeira, currently ranked #1, defeats Santos, who is ranked #1, he will get another title shot; he’s 41.
