UFC 259: Błachowicz vs. Adesanya will be held on March 6, 2021, at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The weigh-ins will stream live on The UnderGround at Noon ET (9:00 a.m. local time) from the APEX.
This event is the deepest in years, with three title fights, and twelve bouts that have UFC Rankings significance.
In the main event, the undefeated Israel Adesanya begins what he intends to be a march straight towards Greatest of All Time status; “The Last Stylebender” wants to become champ champ on Saturday, and then move up to heavyweight to beat strong UFC GOAT contender Jon Jones. However, Polish Power is waiting with upending confidence. In the co-main, Amanda Nunes looks to continue to cement her status as the WMMA GOAT, and after a 13-year career, she may well not have many fights left. The third title fight, Petr Yan seeks to extend his ten-fight win streak, vs. Aljamain Sterling, who finally gets his title shot.
Working down one more fight, Islam Makhachev may, or may not, demonstrate he is the rightful successor to current Pound for Pound champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who will be in his corner. Some say “The Eagle” is only staying around to buy time for Makhachev to take over his lightweight title. The rest of the card is packed with tremendous bouts, including bantamweight GOAT candidate Dominick Cruz, who is on the undercard, and with a loss, could fall from the rankings.
In sum, if you watch only one card this year, it should be UFC 259.
