Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington is a huge supporter of President Donald Trump, and has visited him in the Oval Office, a first for an MMA fighter. Trump is in turn a big MMA fan, is cited by his friend UFC president Dana White as a significant factor in the survival of the sport in the early days, and the regard for Covington is mutual.

If fact, as Covington was being interviewed followed his win over Tyron Woodley, he received a congratulatory phone call from Trump.

“You are a great fighter, man,” said Trump to ‘Chaos’. I’ll tell you, you make it so easy. I don’t know how the hell you do that. Congratulations. I wanted to watch that fight tonight. I wanted to watch it. You were great.”
