UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defends in a trilogy fight vs. Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 252 on Saturday night. If he wins, he is without a doubt, the UFC heavyweight G.O.A.T. If he loses though, he apparently won’t have to fight his way back into title contention.
Daniel Cormier says emphatically that this is his last fight. If DC’s sincere, which he gives every appearance of being, then even if Stipe loses, Miocic will apparently be next in line for a title shot.
“It would be hard to deny Stipe, said UFC president Dana White to The Schmo. We’re saying that this Saturday, the greatest heavyweight ever is the winner of this fight, so to say he’s not good enough for another title fight for the vacant title would be crazy.
White also named who Stipe would fight with a loss, or with a win.
Francis [Ngannou] is next in line, said White. Again, we’ll see what happens on Saturday and then, yeah, Francis is the guy.
