Nurmagomedov: McGregor has to kill me to stop me

“Beginning of first round, I have to be careful with him because he has good boxing but my wrestling is my pressure,” said UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, as transcribed by Straits Times. “This is more than about defending my title, more than a main event. For me, it’s personal. He has to kill me to stop me.”

Former champ champ Conor McGregor replied in kind, and sounded ready to accommodate the former of The Eagle’s vow to win or die. Notorious promised to “knock that man’s nose into the nosebleed seats”.

I am coming to put a hole into this man’s skull and dig my knuckle into his orbital bone. There will never be peace. I’m going to aim right between that man’s eyes. I’m going to knock him clean out. Once I hit him, he is going to turn weak. I expect panic early.”

“I’ve been grappling and wrestling much heavier men this whole camp, 25 minutes straight. I am ready for all outcomes. This is what I love.”
