Chadwick Boseman began acting professionally on All My Chidlren in 2003, and rose to play a series of iconic African-American historical figures including Jackie Robinson (42, 2013), James Brown (Get on Up, 2014), and Thurgood Marshall (Marshall, 2017), before breaking through to international superstardom as the Marvel Comic character King T’Challa in Black Panther (2018), Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Boseman’s most recent role was in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods (2020) which was released on Netflix. His final role is in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, also on Netflix, which will be released posthumously.

Boseman died on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the age of 43, after fighting colon cancer for four years.
